Margaret Vandenberg's studio on Bruny Island

Margaret Vandenberg has worked on Bruny Island for the past
15 years.

After a long career teaching art, she now works in a studio in the bush on the shores of Barnes Bay.

She is a co-director of an Art Gallery at Dennes Point Art at the Point where her large range of art cards and original works can be viewed.

Margaret works in mixed media using drawing, painting, printmaking  techniques  and encaustic. Found objects collected from the shores of the island, fish and bird bones and flotsam and jetsam are also often incorporated into works.

Recent works include hand-made books and wall sculptures of boat forms made from recycled wood, wire and textiles.

An interest in the natural environment underpins her art-making, particularly the coastal landscape and flora and fauna of beautiful
Bruny Island.
